Creating a lifestyle that is dignified, engaging, fulfilling and rewarding

At Lyndoch Living we do things the Lyndoch Way. While driven by the core goals of the Lyndoch leaders of yesteryear, our history does not hold us back from moving forward, creating the needed positive connotations of 'life', 'living' and 'lifestyle' for the people and the community we serve.

The Lyndoch Way is in everything we do. It is the idea that focuses us on modifying our resident's environment whereby they are encouraged to participate in the growth of their own chosen lifestyle. The practice of the Lyndoch Way is deeply guided by the Eden Philosophy of care which focuses on de-institutionalising aged care and creating an enlivened environment, ultimately relieving loneliness, boredom and helplessness.

Following this as a guide, we strive to create a homelike environment for residents and clients. We are constantly undertaking upgrades and refurbishments to our buildings and facilities, to move away from previous designs which created a corporate or hospital like atmosphere.

However, creating an environment where those in our care feel wanted, respected and secure, is usually due to series of small tailored gestures. So creating an intimate home experience is not only achieved by warm interior design, but also through the welcoming of children, adoption of animals and the generation of activity.

Keeping the lifestyle opportunities fresh and vibrant for all is a significant undertaking for staff, but something they do exceptionally well all year round. Spontaneity in care is vital for encouraging residents to lead their life to the fullest. Encouraging conversation and even controversy is stimulating for our community of residents, and can create an outward as opposed to inward focus, which is vitally important for overall wellbeing.
