South West Victoria’s largest, locally run care provider, Lyndoch, launched its new brand and refreshed name on Tuesday May 24th, 2011. The new logo (see above) has given the organisation a completely new image, “one that better represents who we really are.” Said Lyndoch Living CEO, Rhys Boyle.
“This milestone not only marks the beginning of a new era for Lyndoch, but also for the delivery of care and support in the South West. Lyndoch has been a stalwart of the community for the past 60 years. Originally set-up as a 12-bed Hostel for elders who could look after their own daily needs, we have now grown to be the largest provider of aged care, retirement options and supportive care services for a wide range of people, all the while retaining 100% local leadership and management.” Mr Boyle said.
This new brand looks to show Lyndoch to the public as a more contemporary and innovative organisation, highlighting the features of their service delivery that sets them apart from increasing competitive forces. “Our point of difference is that we offer a truly personalised, first class service with residents, clients and tenants being respected for the individuals that they are.” Mr Boyle said.
“Gone are the days of institutional care and hospitalisation, we are a care community. We aspire to create positive connotations of “life”, “lifestyle” and “living”, and encourage those in receipt of our services to participate in their own chosen lifestyle”. This has led us to one of the most significant changes in this rebranding process, the revitalisation of our name – Lyndoch Living. It may only be a subtle change to our name, but we believe it is a meaningful statement about our approach and outlook to our service delivery.” Mr Boyle said.
“Our research showed that the majority of people in our community still see us as ‘the old folks home’ of the 1980’s, not the innovative multi-purpose community service provider that we are today.” The new look logo, website and other visual elements intend to support this evolution of service scope, by better representing the organisation as a whole.
On a yearly basis, Lyndoch Living delivers care and support for in excess of 3500 people through their series of Support, Retirement and Aged Care Services. “A little known fact is that in the last year 23% of those in receipt of our services were younger than 65 years of age and approximately 50% of those received our services were from outside of Warrnambool City boundaries.” Mr Boyle said.
While Lyndoch Living may have started as an aged care facility, residential care is really only one facet of its service offering. “Our thorough expansion into community based services providing rehabilitation, respite, and in-home care and supports, has come about in response to the changing needs of individuals wanting to stay at home and remain connected with their community.
Over the coming months the community will notice many changes to the presentation of Lyndoch Living’s Services. Already available, www.lyndochliving.org.au will give you a clear feeling for the new brand and better information on Lyndoch Living’s services.
