TUESDAY 21st NOVEMBER
A Recognition of Service Dinner was held recently for Lyndoch Living staff to acknowledge those staff who had reached significant milestones in their service with Lyndoch. More than 20 staff were congratulated on their commitment to Lyndoch with service ranging from 15 years through to a staggering 35 years of service.
Sue Beattie, Marlene Moroney and Sandra Hockley were each recognised for their commitment to the delivery of Lyndoch’s services for 30 years. Clare Clarke, an Enrolled Nurse of the Lake Lodge Nursing Home, was also recognised for amassing an incredible 35 years of service. Staff reminisced about how things had changed over the years at Lyndoch, citing the improved accommodation facilities for the residents being the most significant.
Interesting to note was that over 50% of the long serving staff in attendance were staff from our nursing homes. The culmination of this experience and commitment is a real testament to the calibre of staff employed in our high care services.
Both the Board President, David Atkinson and Acting Chief Executive Officer Helen Bacon, commended staff on their dedication and professionalism throughout their years of employment with the organisation. Ms Bacon welcomed occasions such as this, which provided an opportunity to recognise the staff, “We are very fortunate to have such caring and committed staff here at Lyndoch, and this is our opportunity to formally thank them for their contribution”. Ms Bacon went on to add “in a time when people spend an average of 3-5 years in the one job, it is extremely pleasing to see Lyndoch staff going against this trend, and in some instances working their whole career at Lyndoch”.
