Collaboration the name of the game

  • 0

Warrnambool played host to some of Australia’s most recognised thinkers and influencers on Tuesday 10th April at Lyndoch Living’s bi-annual conference “The Collaboration Game: Thinking Global and Growing Local”.

Featuring well known personalities such as GP and Health advocate Sally Cockburn, aka “Dr Feelgood”, Planet Ark’s David Rowlinson, and author and columnist Bernard Salt, Lyndoch’s landmark conference will focus on the benefits of strong community and industry engagement in building local businesses and keeping up with the pace of global change.

Lyndoch CEO, Ms Doreen Power, said the topics under discussion will resonate with a wide range of local businesses and industries.

“For many local and regional businesses, understanding business growth in a fast changing ever moving world can be daunting. Factors such as population and social change, the effects of globalization, competition, artificial intelligence, digital technology and renewable energy, all need to be considered,” she said.

“It is vital that a strong emphasis is placed on bringing regional and remote businesses together to develop a shared vision for local and regional development. There are no single standalone issues facing regional business communities, they are all in a sense bound together by a multitude of factors.

“It should therefore make sense that these communities are likewise bound together in a mutual collaborative network, one that fosters cooperative relationships and strengthens the actions of the individual members,” Ms Power said.

Ms Power said that when regional businesses work together, momentum in growth will be maintained, sustainable practices will develop and be imbedded into the business framework and the value of the collaborative relationships will enhance business growth and assist in meeting strategic business goals.

“We’re really excited to be bringing so many enthusiastic and innovative personalities to the South West and are looking forward to working with other local movers and shakers to capitalise on the potential of this great region,” she said.

The conference was held at Brother Fox Cafeteria, Deakin University Warrnambool campus f on Tuesday 10th April and was followed by a Community Grazing Event  where participants’ palates were treated with a fabulous selection of local food and drink whilst networking with presenters and other conference participants.
