Aged Care Workers Are Awesome

Aged Care Employee Day (Sunday 7th August 2022) is an initiative of Leading Age Services Australia.

Celebrating more than 360,000 aged care staff around Australia. This year’s theme #ThanksforCaring recognises each and every team member involved in caring for the 1.3 million older Australians receiving home care or residential care services. This includes nurses and care workers, allied health professionals, hospitality teams, drivers, cleaners, volunteers, lifestyle officers, administration staff and many, many others.

They have experienced a tumultuous six months, adapting to a new way of providing care, while also sustaining the connections between those they care for and their loved ones or to their wider community.

Take a moment to send your thanks. It’s quick and easy to send a thank you message and show your support.

You can write a general message to all our frontline carers, or a specific message to someone you know. Give a virtual shout-out to all the heroes supporting our seniors by sharing your message, letter, video or artwork in the form on this page.
