Lyndoch Living Community Update

  • 0

Lyndoch Living today reaffirmed its commitment to delivering on the change program underway at the organisation. These changes have two (2) key elements:

  • Arrest the financial position and restore Lyndoch to a financially sustainable position.
  • Continue to refine its resident and client care systems of service delivery to ensure compliance with national aged care accreditation standards.

Like more than a third of aged care facilities across the country, Lyndoch Living recorded an operational loss for the 2021/2022 financial year, impacted by significant expenditure managing COVID-19 outbreaks. This resulted in increased staff and reduced occupancy within its aged care facilities.

Lyndoch Living remains focused on progressing the strategic financial plan to ensure it provides the highest quality service and care to its residents and clients.

“Over recent months, the entire Lyndoch Living team has worked tirelessly to advance our work to meet accreditation standards. As we have always said, doing the work to meet these accreditation standards will take time. We remain committed to this work and rebuilding a better Lyndoch Living for the future,” Acting CEO Jill Davidson said.

“To summarise, we continue to focus on continuous quality improvement. We also continue to work closely with the Commonwealth and State governments and thank them for their ongoing support of this objective.”

With the major works on the Primary Health Care Centre complete, Lyndoch Living is now making good progress in finalising several occupancy agreements and looks forward to announcing these details in the coming weeks and months.

“We acknowledge these have been challenging times for Lyndoch Living, against a backdrop of significant workforce shortages and other challenges, including managing the pandemic,” Board Chair Susan Cassidy said.

“These challenges, as with other similar organisations, will continue for Lyndoch Living for the foreseeable future. We accept these challenges and continue to minimise the impacts on the services to our residents and clients.”

“In these challenging times, it is important to acknowledge the work of our staff, who have played a major role in navigating these extremely difficult times. While we have more work to do, I take this opportunity to thank our staff for their never-ending care and commitment and for their determination to implement higher quality standards.”

“It is important to reiterate our determination to regain the trust of our community, and in doing so, we will continue to support our team of dedicated staff to make this happen,” she concluded.
