Lyndoch Living Retirement Village Manager, Julie, loves to make a difference

  • 0

Meet Julie, Lyndoch Living’s Retirement Village Hub Manager.

Julie describes herself as an inquisitive and sparkly person who loves people and building relationships.

With many years of experience managing retirement villages throughout Victoria, Julie chose this career path because it suited her skill-set. At the heart of the role is ‘being able to provide exceptional customer service’, which she loves. After working in Bendigo for several years, Julie and her husband decided to move home to Warrnambool.

Julie said she wanted to work at Lyndoch as she knew it was an organisation that offered many opportunities. Plus, it is in an industry she loves.

Julie was so excited to become part of the Lyndoch team when she initially commenced in Finance. Then after a few months, the position of Retirement Village Manager arose. Julie said ‘it was meant to be’ as she successfully applied for the role.

“Every day is different; it is not one of those jobs with a tick list. It is all about meeting residents’ needs. However, that may look on any given day.

“It is the type of career that you can make your own. If you love a challenge and enjoy community engagement, then it is the job for you.

“I love that I have the chance to make a difference in someone’s life each day that I come to work,” said Julie.

We asked Julie how she defines success. Her response was, “Waking up every day being grateful, happy, and content with exactly where I am in my life. It has been a journey, but I am very comfortable with my life, and I think that is the key.”

In Julie’s spare time, she loves being out in her garden, binge-watching crime shows, and op shopping.

Thanks for caring Julie!
