Lyndoch Living’s CEO Doreen Power yesterday announced exciting news about Stages I and 2 of the proposed redevelopment. The plan includes a medical precinct of a GP Practice, Pharmacy, Radiology and other medical services. This week we were delighted to announce that Lyndoch had acquired the Warrnambool Medical Clinic, with a view to relocating this clinic into this precinct. From April 2019 the clinic will be known as the Warrnambool Medical Clinic by Lyndoch Living, but the practice will remain in their current locations (Liebig Street, Target Centre and Mortlake) until the completion of the new healthcare centre adjacent to the Lyndoch Living Residential Services in Hopkins Road.
The first two stages of the redevelopment will cost $32 million. It will include the refurbishment of the Swinton wing. Swinton will be updated and extended to accommodate 43 high-care beds, built out over a sensory garden which will also provide the wing with a brand new street façade and give Lyndoch a modern look. The existing residents from the Tomlinson Centre will be relocated into this purpose built, up-to-date and safe environment, suitable to their needs. These stages will take approximately 2 years to complete.
Once the Tomlinson Centre building has been vacated these buildings will be demolished to make way for the new state of the art healthcare centre, which will feature an underground car park for 120 cars, facing Hopkins Road, and house the Warrnambool Medical Clinic, alongside the other allied health and ancilliary services.
