Lyndoch Living to join Respect Group
Lyndoch Living, Warrnambool will join Respect Group Limited on 1 June 2024.
Respect is a not-for-profit community-based aged care provider, specialising in aged care in rural and regional Australia. The organisation has a strong track record in supporting smaller aged care providers to join the group and continue delivering safe, high-quality and sustainable aged care services in their community.
Respect has a 100-year history in aged care homes and services and now has 25 aged care homes,12 in regional Victoria, nine in regional Tasmania, and four in regional New South Wales; five retirement villages and independent living complexes; and provides home care services across these three states.
“Bringing Lyndoch Living into the Respect group of aged care homes and services will ensure the longevity of this aged care legacy for South West Victoria and is aligned with Respect Group’s commitment to delivering exceptional care for seniors in rural and regional Australia,” CEO and Managing Director of Respect, Jason Binder said today.
“Our mission is to care for the elderly in our communities in an environment of respect, value and belonging. We provide care for each of our clients based on what is important to them and their individual needs. The communities from South West Victoria will benefit from Respect Group’s expertise in providing quality aged care services.
“We also understand concerns that residents, clients, and staff of Lyndoch Living may have during a transition like this.
“The same dedicated team of professionals who have been providing exceptional care and support at Lyndoch Living will continue to serve residents and clients, ensuring a smooth transition,” Mr Binder said.
Lyndoch Living has faced financial and operating challenges in recent years.
The Lyndoch Living Board undertook a three year turnaround plan which resulted in earlier improvements and better financial results. However, the reality is that a larger group such as Respect will ensure the sustainable future of the Lyndoch legacy, Dr O’Brien, Chair of Lyndoch, said.
“This was not an easy decision but one we believe is right. Respect has an excellent reputation and very positive feedback was received from other aged care facilities which have joined the Respect group,” Dr O’Brien said.
“Respect shares the mission and values of Lyndoch Living and has a focus of providing excellent care to its aged care residents and clients. Respect also has a strong commitment to supporting and developing its staff members.
“Overall, we are convinced that Respect has the strength, experience, and expertise to provide Lyndoch Living with the resources needed to thrive, innovate, and continue delivering the exceptional aged care services that the Warrnambool community deserves.”
