Lyndoch Living has partnered with industry education providers to address aged care shortages in the Warrnambool and south-west Victoria region.
The partnerships endeavour to overcome sector wide staff shortages by increasing the availability of experienced aged care nurses and supporting upcoming talent through work experience programs.
Lyndoch Living Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mr Ted Rayment, said these partnerships, with a range of education providers, are very important as it provides an opportunity to support the development of graduates to ensure they are skilled and stay within the health and aged care sector.
“The south-west region is continuously growing and therefore requires a robust aged and health care sector which is capable of meeting the community’s needs,” Mr Rayment said.
“As we continue our focus on working to strengthen our workforce and provide high-quality care, we will continue to build our partnerships with those who support our community.”
“Lyndoch Living’s priority is to provide high-quality care to our residents while ensuring our team remain supported. These partnerships will ensure that we have the capabilities to deliver this while we continue to drive occupancy levels and support the communities we service.”

Throughout the partnerships, nursing students will be guided through their first year of clinical practice with mentorship, professional development, and specialist clinical training at Lyndoch Living. Students will have access to a skilled aged care nurse mentor, a wide range of course material, online discussion forums, self-paced modules specific to aged care and real-life case scenarios.
“We hope through the program the student nurses feel empowered to become the clinical and professional leaders we need for our ageing population and choose to stay with Lyndoch Living,” Mr Rayment said.
