Lyndoch Living announces new Board appointments

Three new capable directors to further enhance board stability and commitment to the community.

Lyndoch Living announced the appointment of three new members to its Board at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Monday 31 October. These new directors will work alongside the Lyndoch Living team to provide further strategic thinking and health and aged care expertise.

New directors Louise Cameron, Edward Rennick and Peter O’Brien will commence in their roles on 1 November 2022

The Board now consists of nine volunteer members, all passionate about the local community. The three directors join Susan Cassidy, Kerry Nelson, Kane Grant, Lorraine Mielnik, Ron Page and Andrew Paton on the new board.

Acting CEO, Ted Rayment, welcomed the appointments and said he was looking forward to working with the new members to continue Lyndoch Living’s momentum.

“We are pleased to welcome these new appointments to the organisation. We have made great progress towards improving our healthcare standards across our home and these members will be able to support us as we continue this journey,” Ted Rayment said.

“Our focus has always been on providing quality care to our residents and supporting our staff. To achieve this, we know that we must continuously evolve to meet the changing needs of the community. Louise, Edward and Peter’s management skills and healthcare and education experience will support us in this vital work.”

Louise Cameron is a highly motivated and successful businesswoman, with extensive executive management experience. She understands the influence and history of Lyndoch Living, with her grandparents having been residents, and is determined to see the organisation thrive into the future.

Edward Rennick is public service minded and has previously served two terms on the Board of Otway Health. He brings a wealth of management experience to the Board and is looking forward to giving back to his local community.

Peter O’Brien is the former Director of Medicine at South West Healthcare and is a highly-skilled medical practitioner. He acknowledges the importance for organisations to maintain a team-based approach and strong community engagement and is confident his knowledge of healthcare in the local community will augment the capabilities of the Board.

“These new appointments complement the current directors’ skills and experience. The Lyndoch Living leadership team and I are looking forward to working with the new Board of Directors in the weeks, months and years ahead,” Ted Rayment said.

The appointments come as previous director, Professor Robert Wallis, notified the Board of his resignation due to other commitments and increasing demands for his time in early September 2022. Professor Wallis’ resignation comes into effect from the AGM, after which he will continue to offer his services in a volunteer capacity.

“We thank Professor Wallis for his service to Lyndoch Living over the past three years as a member of our Board. We are pleased he will be staying on with us in a volunteer capacity and are looking forward to seeing a familiar face around the organisation.”

The appointments follow a rigorous recruitment process, conducted by an local independent advisory service SED Regional Advisory.
