We often field questions from Warrnambool clients or their carers in relation to what services they can access through their home care package.
The Home Care Packages Program helps you live independently in your home for as long as you can.
The types of services you can access under a home care package include:
Showering, toileting, dressing and undressing.
Help to prepare a meal, assistance with using eating utensils, assistance with feeding.
Assistance in using continence aids and appliances such as disposable pads, absorbent aids, urinals, bedpans, catheters etc.
Providing walking sticks, frames, walkers, lifting devices, bed rails, pressure relieving mattresses etc.
Such as speech therapy, podiatry, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, hearing and vision services. Home care level 1 & 2 package are not intended to provide comprehensive clinical or health services. Home care level 3 & 4 packages have greater emphasis on delivering complex care in the home.
Assistance with shopping, visiting health practitioners and attending social activities.
Assistance with bandages, dressings and skin emollients.
Some aids and equipment that are directly associated with your care needs that are identified in your care plan and can be provided with budget. However, Home Care Packages are not intended to be an aids and equipment scheme.
