Residents at Lyndoch Living are saying good riddance to bad hair days after the opening of an onsite hair and beauty salon, Pure Living, a collaboration between the aged care service and South West TAFE.
The salon provides the double service of improving the quality of life for Lyndoch residents and providing opportunity to up-and-coming hair and beauty students to further their training in an operating salon.
Lyndoch CEO, Doreen Power, said that Pure Living has been embraced wholeheartedly by residents.
“We all know that when you look good you feel good, and that’s what we’re passionate about achieving for our residents at Lyndoch Living,” she said.
“Our residents have been enjoying both the pampering and the social aspect, chatting with these talented young TAFE students who are just starting out in their careers.
“At the same time, the students are gaining invaluable on-the-job experience in a real work environment.”
Pure Living Hair & Beauty’s slogan “Great hair happens here every day” was developed by the South West TAFE students themselves, a play on Lyndoch’s hashtag #greatstorieshappenhereeveryday.
Ms Power said that Lyndoch Living prides itself on its wide array of community partnerships, and that staff and residents alike were delighted to welcome the Pure Living SW TAFE students to the team.
